Dear All, Today, i faced this error with one of our user, I searched and found out the OLAP tablespaces requires 70GB for creating a single dimension and eats up the spaces like anything.
ORA-37999: Serious OLAP error: UPDATE. Please contact Oracle Technical Support.
ORA-03238: unable to extend LOB segment MSD.SYS_LOB0002005474C00004$$ subpartition SYS_LOB_SUBP8245 by 16 in tablespace APPS_TS_TX_DATA
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AW", line 109 ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AW", line 193 ORA-06512: at line 1
Solution: Metalink ID:418107.1
Cause: The issue occurs because the data tablespace APPS_TS_TX_DATA ran out of space.
Solution
1) Add more space to the APPS_TS_TX_DATA tablespace. Have at least 10 GB of free space.
2) Add more space to the TEMP tablesapce. Have at least 10 GB of free space to allow big analytical workspaces.
3) You may put "autoextend on" on both tablespaces or make sure that enough physical space is available for them
