OBIEE 11g on Linux 64 Bit - Part 2

Pre-requisites and download page has been discussed on the previous post

Installation of Database 11.2.0.1 (Minimal Version to install the RCU for OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.6.0) is 11.1.0.7)

From the unzipped directory usually like /oracle/database

Run ./runInstaller as the user created for oracle products:

Step 1: To update with security updates provide details:

Step 2: Select Single Instance Database Installation.

Step 3: (Select Advanced Install)

Select Install language for the Instance:

Select Enterprise Edition:

Select Oracle Base and Oracle Home: in simple words (Oracle Base is where your entire diagnostics and other supported files are installed. Oracle Home is where your binaries and libraries are installed)

Select Inventory Directory where your inventory about the oracle products will be maintained. This will happen at the first installation of the product.
